  1. We really enjoyed this. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5, is that I thought it was a little too dry, and needed to have some more sauce. For me, that's really saying something, because I don't like a lot of sauce. But anyway, everything else I loved. I used whole wheat spaghetti (couldn't even tell the difference), and skipped the ground beef and used all turkey Italian sausage. (that addition really surprised me, seriously, you could not tell the difference in sausage). I had to use mozzarella instead of provolone, because someone at my house decided to make a "Dagwood" sandwich and ate all the provolone. My favorite part of all was the leftovers this generated. This is just as good reheated the next day. I will definitely make this again, I will just probably add a little more sauce.

  2. This was a quick and easy recipe to make -- a good alternative to lasagna. I used a pound of ricotta cheese mixed with a pound of cottage cheese to give it a little creamier texture. I also used four blend Italian cheese instead of just the provolone because that was what I had on hand. I served it with extra spaghetti sauce on the side because I like more sauce with my pasta than this recipe called for. The amounts in this recipe gave me three 8 x 8 pans which was good because I give two to a friend whose mother-in-law justed passed away after a couragous battle with cancer. I kept one for myself and had it for dinner. I will definitely be making this again, but next time I will use the full amount for the sauce and cut the pasta portion of the recipe in half.

  3. Loved this. added green bell pepper and onions when cooking the italian sausages, then added the ground beef. While cooking those it gave such a wonderful aroma in the kitchen...the smell actually got my DH off the couch to see what I was making. Also, I did not use provolone cheese, as I did not have any. I used a bag of a shredded italian 6-cheese mix. It came out wonderful. Thanks for posting.

  4. My family loved this dish! It was great. With the amounts given this made two 9 X 13 pans for me. I also needed to decrease the oven temp, probably because I didn't bake all ingredients in the same dish. I think next time I will add two 10oz jars of spaghetti sauce so it will be a little moister. I will definitely make this again!
