BBQ'd Beer Can Chicken on a Wet Plank (Cedar, Maple, Alder) Wha

"I have done beer can chicken in the oven, but it can also be done on a wet plank in the barbecue. Outcome is nice and moist with a smoky flavor!! Yum Yum Always prepare plank in advance, by soaking minimum 1hour,up to 24 hours. If well soaked and closely monitored during cooking times, planks can be used more than once. If you have a metal bucket, or a lake like we do, resoak the plank, and it can be used again next barbecue. Also, planks can be soaked in liquids other than water.. Example... apple juice, beer, wine .. Use your imagination."

 1. I love cooking food on planks. My husband and I loved the addition of the spices in this recipe. I made this for company and served with cole slaw and oven fries, Very good! I had no additional spices to add to the beer can and have to add that I drank half of the beer before sticking the chicken on the can. I grilled this on a gas grill, using indirect heat and it took about an hour to to reach the correct temp. thanks for posting this cat-atude (I'm too lazy to add all the stuff inbetween the cat and tude). We'll definitely be making this again next grill season :)

I am the oldest of three girls.. I was always my dads boy he never had. I have been married for 30 years.. My husband and I are both retired. We have a beautiful log home on lake front property...The winters can be very cold in the interior of British Columbia, at which time I enjoy my computer for endless hours... The good weather will find me outside for hours.. Always looking for new ways to make improvements to the gardens and yard.I enjoy looking for new landscaping ideas and my husband is a great help with any heavy work involved. We are both animal lovers and have 2 spoiled cats, one of which was rescued from the SPCA at the age of 6... My husband is a die hard Nascar fan. We won an all expense paid trip to Pheonix in 1995, so he got to see a race live. Too many people for me, think I`ll stick to watching it on TV. We were fortunate to have been able to travel to Australia two years in a row.. 2003, we were in NSW (Coffs Harbour & south) for 3 weeks in March... 2004 we were there again for 6 weeks in mid September and all of October..It was awesome to see the beautiful birds and flowers, kangaroos, and pelicans. This all became possible because of an internet friend on MSN Messenger. I used to do many hours of crochet, but it seems to have taken a back seat to gardening and computing.. UPDATE : Our life became a turmoil! August 6 2007 a day after our 29th anniversary, my husband was involved in a very serious motor cycle accident. He had a collapsed lung, shattered pelvis, shattered tail bone, and numerous abrasions. He was medavacced to Vancouver General Hospital. He underwent 13 hours of surgery on August 13th, his 70th birthday. He also had his spleen removed. From that day on he waged a courageous battle to survive. suffering many infections. We were separated from each other until he was cleared to come home on February 1st.We had never until this time ever been separated. It is almost a year now since he arrived home, and he has and still is improving in leaps and bounds. He probably will never walk unassisted again. I now have acquired all the jobs that he used to do.It has and still is very frustrating at times, but we are once again happy and healthy. ..........embedembed
