Berry Apple Bars

- 2 1⁄2 cups flour
- 2 teaspoons flour
- 2 cups old fashioned oats
- 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 cup margarine, melted
- 3 1⁄4 cups thinly sliced apples (, I use granny smith or other tart apple)
- 1 (12 ounce) jar jam (your choice)
- 1⁄2 cup finely chopped walnuts
directions
- Set oven to 375F degrees.
- Combine the 2 1/2 cups flour,oats,sugar,baking powder,and cinnamon.
- Stir in margarine.
- Set aside 1 1/2 cups for topping.
- Press remaining into greased 13x9 pan.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Toss apples with 2 T flour.
- Stir in the jam.
- Spread over hot crust, leaving 1/2 inch at edges.
- Combine nuts with reserved oat mixture.
- Sprinkle over fruit.
- Bake 30 minutes more, until light brown.
- Let cool.

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!!
I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch.
We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
