  1. We lay thick sliced bacon strips over a rack inside a sided baking sheet and bake in a 350*pre-heated oven for 30 minutes-be sure to watch it the last few minutes, some ovens are hotter than others. I pat the bacon with a paper towel when it comes out of the oven, it's not as greasy prepared this way. We sometimes bake extra bacon, crumble or not when cool and put in a zippy bag in the fridge for other uses. Also, if making for company I use a combination of butter and red leaf lettuces and a mix of red, yellow and orange cherry tomatoes sliced in half. It's really pretty and looks expensive!!

  2. I've made a very similar salad for years, but I usually add some hard boiled egg slices and a handful of olives...I like those tastes (and sometimes a couple tbsp of capers if I have some in the fridge!)

  3. What an easy and yummy salad! It does taste much like a BLT sandwich. The dressing is tangy and goes well with the salad. This will be a great use for those homegrown tomatoes this summer. Thanx for posting!
