ingredients
- 1⁄3 cup softened butter
- 2⁄3 cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon lemon rind, grated
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 cup plain yogurt
- 2 cups fresh blueberries

Topping
- 1⁄2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg, grated
- 1⁄4 cup butter, melted
directions
- Topping
- In a bowl combine the last 4 ingredients tossing to moisten. Set aside.
- In another bowl beat the butter with the sugar until fluffy, beat in eggs and lemon rind and juice.
- Whisk together the dry ingredients.
- Stir into the butter mixture alternately with yogurt, making 2 additions of dry ingredients and 1 yogurt.
- Scrape into a parchment lined 9 inch square metal pan.
- Sprinkle with blueberries and them the topping.
- Bake at 350 until tester comes out clean.This should be about 50 minute Let cool.

I had some leftover blueberries from another ZWT recipe that I had made and was looking for a way to use them up. This was the perfect solution! In a word, yum. In more words, this made for a very moist coffee cake thanks to the yogurt! The flavor was wonderful and the topping was excellent. I really liked the blueberries all located towards the top, just beneath the topping. I used a 9 inch round non-stick pie tin, sprayed with Pam and it worked out great. Thanks! Everything I love in a coffee cake! Great flavor and texture, sweet but not too sweet and a lovely struesel topping. I used part wholewheat pastry flour in the topping and cake and thought the lemon was just right. I didn't have any yogurt so I used a mixture of sourcream and buttermilk to make it the consistency of yogurt. The only thing I'd change would be to add some cinnamon. <p>I have 5 kids, 12 grandkids and now have 6 great grandchildren. I don't get to see them as much as I would like. I love to garden and I am also a broadcaster on radio and the net.. Recently married to an American although remarriage is something I thought I would never do again. He traveled 3000 miles with his cat to come to marry me. <br /><br />I owned my own craft store for 10 years but gave that up after a huge craft discount depot opened just 4 blocks from me. I used to teach 6 days a week; crafts like quilting, dried wreaths, Christmas ornaments, etc.</p>
<p>I had open heart surgery and recovered nicely.I am not the best patient in the world as I want to get going and get back to work and my life as I knew it.</p>
<p>I have retired and do help out at a soup kitchen for the homeless and 1 morning a week I make French Toast at a community center that supplies 26 schools with free snacks and sandwiches for the kids <br />I have been knitting blankets for Blankets for Canada an organization that helps the homeless keep a little bit warmer. I also knit for many different charities that supply kids with warm clothes.
