"This is in NO WAY healthy or good for your body, but I might argue it's very good for your soul. Great for make ahead occasions, potlucks and brunches."

  1. This is a very tasty recipe that would be wonderful for a special brunch or breakfast! I made 1/2 of the casserole using King's Hawaiian bread. I made the whole recipe of the sauce and it worked out great. While the recipe does take some planning to make, it is well worth it. Thanks for posting!

  2. Awesome dish! I used 12 day old Belgian waffles instead of bread. Made it even better.

  3. If I add almonds, when would I do so?

  4. We had this on Christmas morning and liked it because it was something new for us. I did not use as much cream cheese as it called for. 10 oz. rather than the 16oz. called for was more than enough to cover the bread layer. I added sliced almonds for garnish, which went nicely with the casserole. The only thing I thought it needed was a bit of tart flavor, but this could be my personal preference of liking my fruit tart. I'll try adding some lemon zest or juice to the sauce next time. It is a beautiful dish!
