Bobby's Pimento Cheese

"Courtesy of Paula Deen. I made this and took it to a family gathering and they gobbled it right up. They ate it on sandwiches, on crackers, with fritos and even as a topping on a grilled black bean burger."

  1. This is a very good recipe. I added some minced jalapeno, and then stirred the pimento cheese into some hot grits for breakfast, topped with an egg. HEAVENLY! It was like cheese grits, only<br/>to the 10th power. It's also very good on it's own.

  2. I've never made pimento cheese this morning - had a hard time finding pimentos at the grocery store, but now that I know where they are and I have this recipe I will be making often. This was so so good.

  3. My most favorite sandwich EVER is this homemade pimento cheese with some crispy bacon, lettuce, pickles and a little extra mayo on toasted white bread. The best!!

  4. DH has been pushing me for this spread for some time so decided on this one and followed the recipe as written. Lovely blend of flavors and he hasn't stopped eating it. Next time thinking I might even add some jalapenos for a little extra kick

  5. I guess I'm the odd man out here. I found the dip to be bland. I added more pimentos, another teaspoon of salt, and more pepper before it really tasted like anything. I agree with two other reviewers--use the pimento juice and jalapenos would add needed flavor.

  1. best pimento cheese recipe! double or you will regret it. i use all sharp cheddar cheese instead of the monterrey jack because i prefer the intense flavor. instead of cracked black pepper, i use a little modified paula deen house seasoning, which is basically seasoned salt, pepper, and garlic powder. great with crisp celery!!!

I am a wife, Mother and Grandmother. I am a native Texan and can't imagine living anywhere else. My Grandmother taught me to cook before I could see the top of the counter. I remember standing on a stool in her kitchen learning to make pancakes. My Mother loved to cook and it seems she was cooking (or cleaning) most of the time. So those are the two ladies responsible for nurturing my love of cooking! <a href="http://s245.photobucket.com/albums/gg77/monji74/?action=view&current=groupie1.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i245.photobucket.com/albums/gg77/monji74/groupie1.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> As you can see I cook and review recipes more than I post them. That's because I am a pinch of this and a dollop of that cook and it's hard to put those recipes down on paper. <img src="http://www.satsleuth.com/cooking/Swap14.JPG"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/untitled.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"> <img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/200_artistrichardneuman-art-prints_.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting">
