  1. I've never tried brussels spouts before and glad I picked your recipe to try. This was very good. I was even eating it cold out of the refrigerator later that night. A keeper for sure. I will be making this a lot.

  2. I love brussel sprouts, so this recipe was fine for me without the sauce. But the sauce solidifed, and didn't cover the brussel sprouts..it turned into a hard caramel like substance. I followed the directions, allowing the bacon grease to cool before mixing with the flour, etc. But the sauce didn't work for me. I did try to put the sauce on the brussel sprouts and sprinkled the bacon bits on them. Next time I will copy Boomette and try the sauce in the microwave.

  3. I did the sauce in the microwave and decided not to add the flour LOL I made it after dinner, so for the photo I didn't use pecans. Probably tonight we'll add toasted pecans. I didn't add salt when cooking the brussels sprouts. I loved the taste of the sauce with the brussels sprouts. Thanks DuChick. Made for 123 hit wonders.

  4. This was just delicious! I love brussels sprouts and this is a wonderul way to serve them. The sweet from the brown sugar, tang from the mustard and salty from the bacon was a great match to the sprouts. I will definitely make this again - thanks for sharing your recipe!

  5. What she (Twissis) said! Wowzers! My favorite new sprout recipe. I used 4 ounces of chopped pancetta to make this a little healthier. I'd love to use bacon but the partner is watching cholesterol. Also, for ease, I just threw the sliced sprouts in the same sauce pan as the browned pancetta, and added the combined liquids and allowed to steam. Served with Recipe #266599

I am... ~a mother of 2 kids (19 and 22) who are extremely picky eaters. The mere mention of "healthy" sends them running in the opposite direction. They prefer the creamy, cheesy, fried stuff that they weren't brought up on! ~a wife of a wonderful man who fights an expanding waistline and will lovingly eat most anything I set before him. Everything is 5 stars to him. :) He's the easiest customer a cook could ask for! ~a teacher who tends to reach for comfort foods to relieve stress. I am a middle school reading specialist. The miracles I see on a daily basis keeps me going! But it's also stressful, so keep me away from the cookie jar!
