Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches

"I found this recipe online and made a few changes to suit what I had available. If you have leftover grilled chicken, use it instead of the pre-cooked chicken strips. I like to use homemade blue cheese dressing. These are very sloppy sandwiches so be sure to have lots of napkins or a wet washcloth handy! Enjoy!"

  1. Doubled the recipe and did the whole thing in a crock pot with frozen chicken breasts on high for 4 hours. Shredded the chicken in the crock, stirred to combine, and served at our monthly "game night". Served with a celery/raddish/carot slaw tossed in bleu cheese dressing. A H-U-G-E hit! Thank you ever so much for this crowd-pleasing recipe!

  2. My family loves this recipe and now prefers it to Sloppy Joes. I also use any leftover baked chicken or rotisserie chicken from the deli and throw everything into the crockpot to warm so it's a no fuss delicious meal for the whole family. I serve the sandwiches with crunchy baked potato wedges, blue cheese dressing for dipping and pickle spears. Thanks for posting.

  3. So just wondering is it not breaded chicken strips you use ? I'm from Ireland and also is a crock pot like a slow cooker

  4. Really good! At first glance I thought the recipe meant breaded chicken strips, so that's what we used. It was delicious! We skipped the blue cheese dressing as half of us can't do dairy.

  5. OK, so I changed this a bit, but it still came out great. I used a sprinkling of smoked paprika in lieu of the bbq sauce and chili powder, just a tiny bit of butter and less hot sauce (different brand - must be way hotter). I would love to try this again as written. Thanks, flower!

I have a degree in archaeology from a small Ohio college and I work for the Ohio History Connection. My passions are art, music, books, food, history, and cats/animal welfare. I also love photography. I have a 1,000 (plus) piece collection of vintage flower pins from the 1960's, hence the username ha. I also have small collections of vintage butterfly pins, vintage tablecloths, and vintage glass Christmas ornaments. (Can you tell I love vintage?) I took a trip to the Netherlands in March 2006 and fell in love! I doubt it will happen but if I ever have the opportunity I would love to live there.
