Cabbage Roll Casserole

"When speaking with an older lady at my work I told her how I love cabbage rolls but hate the preparation. She came in the next day with this recipe, and we love it! Thanks Joyce."

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Mix first 6 ingredients together.
  • Coarsely chop cabbage.
  • Arrange meat mixture & cabbage in layers in a greased 2-21/2 quart casserole dish.
  • Pour tomato sauce over all and top with saurkraut.
  • Drizzle with ketchup and brown sugar.
  • Bake for 1 1/2 hours or until cabbage is tender and meat and rice are cooked.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes.
