  1. Spasiba! This was truly great Russian tasting comfort food. I served the cabbage recipe over egg noodles. And, to include all the Russian National Vegetables in one meal, we had beets and a cucumber salad as sides. My boys (born in Russia) loved it all. I did cook the sausage in a bit of water for a couple of minutes before adding them - that way, I removed some of the fat.

  2. This cookbook is the best ever for some great recipes. Made this tonight with 1 change - I had a yellow squash that needed to used up - cut up and cooked with cabbage & onion. Otherwise followed the recipe to a "T". Served with a hunk of cornbread. Wonderful!! Husband had 2 plates!! Thanks for sharing a great recipe!

  3. Ok, there is a problem with this recipe. The flavor is great! But the directions are off. You need to cook the cabbage separately. Add it to the sauce after it is almost done. Then cook with the sausage for 20 minutes. Otherwise, great recipe.

  4. Excellent, fast, simple but tasty meal. The vinegar really kicks in the flavor. Thanks for sharing.

  5. This was very simple and easy to prepare, my family truly loved it will definitely be making this more often.
