"This recipe was a favorite when visiting my Grandmother in western Michigan. She was given the recipe in 1962 by a neighbor returning from a vacation to the Golden State. Quick and tasty."

  1. This is a wonderful casserole! Full of flavor and yet so easy to make. I made it exactly as you stated except I used 2 tablespoons of lemon juice instead of 3 tablespoons and I only had about 1/2 cup of sliced almonds on hand. It turned out beautifully. The next time I make it, I will be sure to have enough almonds. Thanks PaulaT for sharing this wonderful recipe. We love it!!!! :-)
