  • Peel and slightly trim the base of the shallots.
  • Melt butter in saucepan and add the shallots.
  • Cook over very low heat for about 20 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in water and sugar over a low hear until sauce thickens and is syrupy.
