Cheesy Broccoli Casserole

"This came from a ladies group that met once a month where everyone brought their favorite dish and worked the afternoon on fund raising projects. It has since become a favorite dish for Sunday dinners, and potlucks at our house."

  1. This sounds delish. I made it to the recipe, but used fresh broccoli and steamed it a bit first. I also decided to use the little square cheese crackers, instead of the ritz. I will add stars and let you all know how it turns out.

  2. I made this delicious side dish to go with our last nights supper, but I had to alter the ingredients just a bit, as I didn't exactly have 2 (10 oz.) bags of frozen broccoli. I only had a 16 ounce bag, so I only used 6 ounces of Velveeta, 5 tablespoons of butter, 1-1/4 cups of Ritz cracker crumbs, but I still added the 2 drops of Worcestershire sauce. I cooked the frozen broccoli 8 minutes in the microwave (a 900 watt microwave), but I think next time I'm going to cook the broccoli for just 6 minutes. Even though I only had 16 oz. of broccoli, I still baked this dish for 45 mins. My husband and I loved the crispy topping and thoroughly enjoyed this side dish. One word of warning tho... the broccoli in this dish stayed quite hot all through dinner, so be careful when biting into it. kmax, I look forward to making this side dish again, and thank you for sharing the recipe.

  3. This is a shockingly delicious dish, especially considering how easy it is and the ingredients, which seem pretty mundane yet somehow come together in a wonderful way! I had it at a potluck, where everyone raved about it. I lost the recipe, so thanks so much for posting!

  4. I actually got this same recipe from my sister. It was very, very good. I did not use the worcestershire sauce, but I will try it next time.

  5. A great broccoli quick-fix! Do not skip that Worcestershire sauce! My 2 "drops" were kind of big "drops.". I used fresh broccoli and cut the flowerets small. I added some finely chopped onion, because I insist on onions in everything. ;) Thanx for a great, simple broccoli side.
