The only change I made was in using turkey instead of chicken. It was very bland and I wouldn't make it again. If you want to try this recipe I would use some fresh cream or half and half - add some extra flour or corn flour for thickener - red pepper flakes for heat and a tsp of either italian seasoning mix or a tsp of poultry seasonings. That's just my thoughts

This appeared to be a little bland for our liking, my husband doesn't eat onions so I changed it a bit. I used 2 cups of chicken broth, 1 cup heavy whipping cream and 1 cup milk along with some chicken bouillon and twice the butter. I also added 1 tsp. of salt instead of the 1/2 tsp. called for along with some freshly ground white pepper. Some additional flour is necessary with the addition of the extra liquid. It turned out luscious and very creamy.

I made this with turkey leftovers. I began by following directions exactly (except for the turkey) and found that 3 teaspoons of flour is not near enough to thicken the broth. I ended up adding an additional 2 tablespoons of four (with a little cold broth) to the mixture to get it to thicken. After adding all the ingredients, I found it to be a bit bland so I added some thyme. Sorry, but even with the biscuts, it was just ok to me. I don't think the turkey made any difference. I think I prefer an ala king recipe that has a more creamy base and more seasonings.
