  1. WOW! This was really good. My husband and I devoured it. I didn't have chicken thighs, so I used frozen chicken breasts so that they wouldn't be too dry after cooking them all day. The chicken just fell apart when it was done. When my husband got home from work he said that it smelled like the Olive Garden. I will definately make this again.

  2. We thought this we a really good dish! I made a few changes. I added about 10 cloves of garlic, used breasts, and used tomato puree instead of paste. I will def us the paste next time to thicken it. Everyone ate it up even my 1 1/2 year old!

  3. Excellent! My husband said best meal ever! I did substitute fresh mushrooms for canned. I served with rigatoni, peas and Italian Bread. Very easy for a great meal!

  4. This was so good. We ate it all. I used thighs with the bone in them but any type of chicken would do. The sauce was great and there was enough to put on pasta. A keeper.

  5. I thought this was a great recipe. I substituted real mushrooms for canned, but used everything else as stated. The flavor was amazing and not at all salty. It was very simple to prepare. I served it over basmati rice with homemade french bread on the side. Thanks for posting this wonderful recipe!!

Tweaks

  1. The meat was tender and the sauce was fine...I just wasn't "wowed". I did substitute the olives for capers. I didn't think that it needed as much sugar....so I reduced it and it took the "tinny-ness" from all of the canned prducts. It was fine...not love at first sight, but certainly easy to throw together in the morning before work. Thanks.

  2. This was very good. I made changes due to the fact that I didn't have everything listed. I used 4 chicken breasts instead of thighs. I used a 28oz can of stewed tomatoes with green peppers and celery instead of the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce (I didn't have either). I used half a can of tomato paste and sliced up jalapeno stuffed olives instead of regular olives. I chopped up an onion instead of the flakes and added an insane amount of garlic. I cooked for about 5 hours and the chicken just fell apart-very good. The jalapenos added a nice kick. I served it over rotini noodles with fresh garlic bread. Very good! Thank you.

  3. We loved this! Instead of tomato paste, I added a can of Rotel Italian Zesty tomatoes. Also, 2 tsp. oregano and 1 tsp. basil for the italian seasoning, a bit of stevia instead of sugar. I ate mine over cauliflower (low-carb) and noodles for the others. All ages (4-40) enjoyed it.
