"If you like Chocolate, this is the cake for you. This cake is sooooooo rich.. I have to resist making it every week because I'll eat it all. I don't remember where it came from because I've had it for years"

 1. Speaking as a "novice" baker, this was quick, easy and absolutely delicious!! I couldn't really distinguish the chocolate chips so, next time, I'll probably just save them for chocolate chip cookies. Thanx CoolMonday!

 2. Awesome! Everyone in my family loves this, even my son, who (supposedly) doesn't like chocolate. It doesn't need frosting, it's moist and yummy, and it stays that way for a week, easily. Freezes well.

 3. This cake was super! I made it for a co-workers birthday and it was gone in 30 minutes. This is by far the best cake I've ever made. It is very moist and delicious. I did add a simple chocolate glaze but you could definitely get by with no icing at all. I will be making this again very soon. Thanks for such a great recipe!

 4. This was definitely a delicious cake; however, I'm not sure it's worth the expense of the extra ingredients (like the pudding mix and sour cream) because it didn't taste any different to me than an ordinary boxed cake mix. We do love boxed cake mixes at our house, so we did enjoy this cake, but I thought it would taste a little more special with the added ingredients.

 5. This cake was awesome and really easy to make. My coworkers all loved it. I did add a chocolate buttermilk frosting that made it even better (I can't eat cake without frosting!) One trick that I used to make the bundt come out of the pan perfectly is to mix 2 tbsp melted butter and 2 tbsp cocoa and spread with a pastry brush into all the crevices of the bundt pan. It will come right out with no fighting and no missing pieces!

Tweaks

 1. Variation: From Aunt Phyllis- instead of sour cream she uses 1 3/4 cup milk and instead of 4 eggs, she uses 2. I just thought I'd post this here as an alternative! Thanks!

Sadly, CoolMonday passed away on November 16, 2007. She will be missed by her many friends at Recipezaar; and we're grateful for the fond memories we have. I'm the number one gramma of Rusty, Michael and Nikki. I know that because they told me so... hehehe...I live in the eternal city of lights, Las Vegas, Nevada. I stopped working about 3 years ago when I had some personal situations requiring my attention. I do love pizza, especially cold for breakfast the next day.. Since I discovered Zaar, I now prepare a large family meal once a month and I enjoy saving recipes and passing them on to my daughter. Most of the dishes are from Recipezaar.. so thank you very much. I have a good housekeeping cookbook that's about 40 years old and I love it... I have recipes I have saved over the years and have posted some of them. My pet peeve???? hmmmm that would have to be rude or inconsiderate people. Another pet peeve is people who "tell it like it is".
