Great recipe, glad I chose this one out of the hundreds available. Good to read the tips about adding the extra milk as I had to also do so.
was really easy to make - I ran out when covering my cake and whipped up a little extra in no time - recipe works so well that for this little extra frosting I didn't even measure the ingredients just bunged them in the pan and voila...
Loved that it wasn't too sweet like other frostings I have tried in the past.
One thing I would do differently is to sift the powdered (icing) sugar as I didn't and had tiny little chunks of the sugar in the finished frosting (but I was decoratinga spider cake so it was no problem!)
Thanks Sherri for sharing

There are alot of frosting recipes to choose from. I chose this one because I had all the ingredients and it didn't call for large quantities of any of them. When I was boiling it, it reminded me of my dad's fudge recipe.... I knew the frosting had to be good ;) I DID have to make one adjustment. When I pulled it off the heat and added the powdered sugar, it just dried out on me. I literally had dry "crumb-like" frosting... I added 1 Tblsp. of milk to see if it would help and it was just right. Instant spreadable frosting. The flavor is good, it doesn't take a long time and it's JUST ENOUGH for 1 cake (13x9). I like not having any leftover! I paired it up with "Black Cake" #46019 ... VERY RICH and good! Thanks for posting this recipe!!
