- 2 cups Miracle Whip
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 cups flour
- 1⁄2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 cups cold water
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 16 ounces powdered sugar
- 3⁄4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1⁄2 cup milk
directions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine miracle whip and sugar.
- In another large bowl, combine flour, cocoa and baking soda.
- Combine water and vanilla.
- Add combined flour mix and water mix alternately to miracle whip mix, beating well after each addition.
- Grease 9x13 pan with butter. Pour in mix to fill a little less than half way.
- You will have some batter left over. (Enough for about a dozen cupcakes. I actually filled a dozen cupcakes half way first and then put the rest in the cake pan.).
- Bake at 350? for 35-40 minutes (about 25 minutes for cupcakes) or until toothpick comes out clean.
- For the frosting, use the last five ingredients.
- In a large bowl, beat butter and vanilla.
- In another large bowl, combine powdered sugar and cocoa.
- Add combined powdered sugar and cocoa alternately with milk, beating well after each addition.
- Frost cake and cupcakes.
