  • Melt 1/4 cup oil in skillet.
  • Add onions and saute' for approximately 10 minutes or until they are caramelized.
  • Remove and set aside.
  • Melt remaining oil in same skillet.
  • Saute' livers for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Chop, or mash, livers to desired consistency.
  • Add the onions and eggs and mix together.
  • Add salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Mix well and chill.
  • Serve at room temperature.

  1. This recipe is perfect, just like mama's :) We like onions so I caramelized 3 instead of two till they were dark golden brown. It came out really well. The family loved it!
     
  2. I was looking through your recipes and found this. It's also my mom's recipe (and probably her mom's). Easy and good. Best on fresh, still warm Challah. I always use chicken fat, not diet friendly but its comfort food. When I make chicken I like to healthy it up by pulling the fat and skin from the bird. I don't waste it, I freeze it for the holidays to use in recipes like this one. Take care and thanks for posting.
