  1. Tasty, especially with a powdered-sugar icing. I doubled the recipe but only added 4 cups (instead of 5) of flour. The cookies were still a little floury, even. I also used a couple squirts of lemon juice instead and orange and it worked just great.

  2. I liked the hint of orange juice in the batter. I took one person's suggestion of putting the orange sugar glaze on it, but I added some orange zest into the glaze to give it more of a punch of flavor

  3. Excellent recipe Evie! I did chill for an extra hour, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. Delicious subtle flavour, I would not change a thing. My 6 year old and I had a great time decorating these like Christmas Trees, and we supplied her grade one class with treats for a party. This will go into my regular Christmas tray rotation. Thanks for posting!

  4. I must confess, I've had this recipe since last year...we ran out of baking time!! Well this year this one was the first to be made, and boy am I glad - they are terrific, and easy to make. The only comment I have being a novice at this type of cookie (rollout & cut) is that if your kitchen gets very hot work quickly with the chilled dough otherwise it gets difficult to transfer to the cookie sheet and needs to be refrigerated again! YUMMY!! These are keepers!

  5. Took these to the DS's Christmas party were they were really enjoyed. I did get 55 cookies from the mix though. Chilled for 3 hours and I had to work the dough in small amounts to smooth and make it pliable but otherwise came up well. Baked at 190C fan forced oven for 6 minutes. Thank you Evie*.
