  1. This is the same recipe I use for vanilla ice cream. I usually double it though. If you add chocolate syrup to it, the recipe says to use less sugar. This is a really good recipe to add in whatever you want. My favorite add in is oreo cookies for cookies and cream! If you want really decadent ice cream, I suggest using vanilla bean seeds. Enjoy!

  2. Great ice-cream! I was out of eggs so I thought I'd try this one and really can't notice any difference in the finished product so may just use this one as my standard vanilla recipe now instead of the egg type. I used 1% milk in place of the half and half with good results.

  3. I decided to break down and blow my diet on the 4th of July and I was in search of the perfect vanilla ice cream recipe, and I do believe I found it. I choose this one as it did not have the addition of eggs and sounded so very simple. This was my first attempt at making ice cream. The only change I made was I substituted 1/3 vanilla bean in place of the 1tb of vanilla. The results were fabulous. Rich, creamy and flavorful. Sue this is a winner!

  4. Sue you've done it again with this recipe. Needed vanilla ice cream to serve with recipe#84746 and decided to try this one for it's ease in making. WOW, the rich, creamy, vanilla flavor was perfect, and probably the easiest ice cream I've ever made. Delicious, thinking this would also be a great start for so many additions, and when it's this easy, why not have home made ice cream often

  5. This is the first ice-cream I have ever made. I only ever had store-bought ice-cream, so I didn't know quite what to expect. The flavour is excellent. Good texture-light and rather creamy. It will get hard as nails if left in the deep freeze, which I love! My toddlers absolutely loved it.

  1. Very good! My DH suggested adding more vanilla. Very rich and yummy! I replaced half the sugar with granular fructose and the sweetness was just right for my family. Thanks!
