Club Panini

"Can be made in a frying pan or grill (the George Foreman type) I found this recipe on the net, changed it a bit and at the moment it is an addiction! I like it brushed with the olive oil but my preference is to use mayonnaise and use this method now all the time ever since I made Dawnab's Recipe #108522"

  1. Some of the best panini I've ever had. I had it for lunch a couple days of the week, and I loved them! The mayo sauce alone is so good!

  2. Can you say YUMMY? I made a half recipe, but only used a quarter of the mayonnaise, mustard, and herb mixture which was plenty. I used fresh chives for the herbs, didn't measure, and wished I had used at least as much as was called for. I did spread mayonnaise on the outside before frying. This was a quick and delicious weeknight dinner for DH and I. Thanks Pets. I didn't know you but am honored to have made one of your recipes.

  3. Yum! I didn't use quite as much as the ingredients stated, because my bread slices weren't very big. I used sourdough bread, brushed the outsides with olive oil, and inside the sandwich I layered 2 slices of turkey, 2 slices of shortcut bacon, and 3 slices of tomato, with a small slice of swiss cheese between each layer. The herbed mayo was fantastic (I couldn't decide which herb to use, so I used a combination of fresh basil, fresh parsley, and fresh chives!). Made in memory of Pet'R'Us.

  4. We used ham in place of the turkey breast and left off the Dijon mustard. Fantastic sandwich Pets! Thanks for sharing it! Mike

Tweaks

  1. Very tasty. I used Rosemary and Olive Oil artisan bread and oven roasted turkey (the good stuff) from Costco, 1 slice Swiss and 1 slice Monterrey jack, and about 1/2 the mayo mix, dried parsley instead of fresh herbs and buttered before frying/squishing in the waffle iron with the flat plates. I didn't have any bacon but I'm sure that would have been even better. Served with cheese and potato soup for a birthday dinner.

  2. This was very good. Instead of cooking bacon I added real bacon pieces to the mayonnaise
Mixture.I also used panini bread and cooked it on a panini maker. Both my husband and my son felt it is a keeper.

  4. Wow wow wow! These were so yummy!!! We used fresh chives and sourdough bread and also used mayo on the outside of the bread instead of the olive oil and these were delicious! So easy to make and they tasted so much better than any "chain" sandwich shop! Thanks for posting this great recipe! We will be making these alot!

Hello, my name is Bonnie and I am a very beautiful cat as you can see if you look at the picture at the top of this page.... What??.. I am supposed to talk about you??? But it says here: About Me!! Well all right then ...... My mom is Dutch and has moved to England in October 2007, after living 15 years in the Netherlands with my English dad. They don’t have any human children and “created” their own family, which means I have to share them with Hannah, she is a 6 years old tortie cat, Abby the dog, she is a 9 year old Beagle, and a one year old black Miniature Pincher named Poppy, I refuse to tell you my age but I am a georgious lilac British Shorthair cat!! It is obvious she adores pets just by looking at her name she uses on Zaar (many on Zaar call her Pets or Petsie Poo), her name in real life is Annelies and that is a common Dutch name. My mom always liked to cook, but since she joined Zaar it got out of control, and it doesn’t help that she is disorganized. Printed recipes everywhere in the house, the recipe binders have got bigger and just between you and me, her hips too!!! I have lived in Holland all of my life until now, but they lived in several different countries/places:- desert and coastal Oman, up North and West in Holland, Vancouver-Canada, Aberdeen- Scotland and in Norway they lived in Bergen and Oslo. We have all moved together to England, as you can see I’ve already learnt the language! I heard her say to Dad that this is the last time she moved to another country...she's had it with moving from one place to another! ( its her age...she's getting grumpy) Mom is 55 years old but I always hear her say that the date of her birthday does not mean that much to her, the date of her cancer anniversary is more important, because so far she is a survivor. Besides cooking she has other interests too, crafts, gardening and soap making. She likes Zaar and is one of the hosts on the German-Benelux Forum here on RecipeZaar. She would like to thank everybody who tries and comments on the recipes she has posted on Recipezaar, your feedback is very much appreciated.
