  1. I wonder if the previous poster that said the butter ruined this even tried this. This is awesome. Smearing lots of butter on an ear of corn in a ritual where I come from. This was really good and an easy way to fix corn for a busy family. We LOVED it. I used even more butter than the recipe called for.....YUMMY.

  2. Yet another excellent twissis-proof recipe. Since prior reviewers were of mixed opinion on issues of butter amt, salt, water, etc, I opted to put my own spin on your recipe. I used lrg ears of frozen corn & expected excess moisture, so I didn't bother with wrapping the corn or using water. I just put the corn in the crock-pot, drenched it w/the garlic herb butter (made as written) & then let my guests salt & pepper their portions at the table plus add more butter sauce as desired. Love the no-muss, no-fuss cooking method & the outcome. Thx for posting this recipe for us.

  3. 1/2 cup of butter is a lot of fat to be adding to that meal. It ruins what should be healthy meal.

  4. This is an excellent way to make corn. I made 4 ears of corn. Way too much butter mixture. You could easily use half. I found that there was a lot of water within each package which drained a lot of the butter mixture off and diluted it. I had extra butter mixture and applied that after removing it from the foil and that worked well. After 5 hours on low, the corn was cooked to perfection. Thanks for sharing a great technique for cooking corn on the cob. I'll try using less water next time also as suggested by another reviewer. Made for 1-2-3 Hit Wonders Tag Game.

  5. The corn turned out great. I cooked 2 ears of corn on high for 2 hours. I cut the butter to half and kept the garlic the same. I had some left over butter and DH used it to re-butter his corn. Next time I will add some parmesan cheese. Great recipe.

I live on a very large farm here in West Virginia. We really do live off the land. I plant a large garden, I freeze, dehyrate and can everything possible. We raise beef cattle and hunt wild game. It's a family thing. I met my husband at work. We got stuck on night shift together and he seemed to grow on me like a wart. We married 5 months after we started dating. We have now been married 11 yrs. He's a great husband and father too our two children. Our oldest is in the 6th grade and youngest is in the 5th grade. We have lived all over the east coast. We spent 5 years in South Carolina. I would have to say it was a great 4 years. I learned so much about that area and experienced alot of different foods while there. I truely miss the people from there. A little about me. I'm a SAHM. Most of my time here alone is spent playing euchre, canning, gardening, cooking (a lot of OAMC), flipping thru my cook books (and i have plenty) and browsing thru Zaar! I just love it here. Trying to add a lot of our family favorites. I enjoy traveling, reading, camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, canning, bbq-ing, bon fires, entertaining, baking, playing board and card games with the kids, swimming, photography, and just being with family and friends. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ How I rate: 5 stars ~ perfect, will make again without any changes. 4 stars ~ like it, will make again with minor changes to suit our tastes 3 stars ~ had to make major changes but got it to work for us. 2 stars ~ too many changes needed, waste of my time. 1 star ~ just terrible, couldnt get it to work out. waste of money and time. I think I want to cry now. ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ <img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Iwasadopted.jpg"><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/Permanent%20Collection/PACSpring09Participation.jpg"> <img src ="http://i169.photobucket.com/albums/u208/diner_photos/lazymecookathon.jpg"> <img src="http://i38.photobucket.com/albums/e110/flower753/Food/my3chefsnov2008.jpg"> <img src="http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a132/tgifford/Game%20Room%20Banners/AM%20Banners/hg-participation.gif" border="0" alt="Hidden-Gems-Event-08"> <img src="http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj81/HokiesLady65/123HitAMpage.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"> <img src="http://i270.photobucket.com/albums/jj81/HokiesLady65/1234HitAMPage_Size1.png"><img src="http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vseward/Bevy/officialmemberofthebevtaggame.jpg"> <a href="http://www.recipezaar.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=274954"><img src="http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c99/ruemke/banners/coupon.jpg"></a><a href="http://www.recipezaar.com/cookbook.php?bookid=220958"><img src="http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q23/vseward/Bevy/beveragetagcookbook1.gif"></a> <img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/CookathonforKarensticker.jpg"><img src="http://i250.photobucket.com/albums/gg271/MrsTeny/AMpageSticker.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"><img src="http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a132/tgifford/participation%20banners/coolmonday-particiation2.jpg" border="0" alt="Cookathon for Cool Monday (2)"><img src="http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e347/Saturn6666/Other/tagforpage1.jpg"><img src="http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b399/susied214/permanent%20collection/Adopted1smp.jpg"><img src="http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b161/tisht/freezer.jpg"><a href="http://www.recipezaar.com/bb/viewtopic.zsp?t=278234"><img src="http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c99/ruemke/banners/beans-1.jpg"></a>
