Questions & Replies

  1. It says to serve immediately. I was wondering if I can make the dressing ahead of time and then put over the salad just before serving.

  2. What is the nutritional content of this salad?

Reviews

  1. Wonderful! I served this salad with a turkey dinner and it really complemented the meal. To my dismay I realized I did not have honey so I substituted honey mustard for the honey and the mustard and the dressing was delicious.

  2. This salad is so versatile - I've served it with chicken, salmon and steak. Thanks!

  3. I left out the dijon (I'm a finicky eater). Hope you don't mind. That said, it was absolutely delicious, and I will definately make this again. Thanks!

  4. Can I use grilled chicken breast and add it to this salad?

  5. Loved the combination and had to try this. BF said it was Fantastic, I didn't think the flavor of everything came through. Neither one of us cared for the dressing given. Did try it but found it a little bland. I'd love to try this with a raspberry vinaigrette or something with a bit more zip. Though I was using cheap balsamic! Thanks for the idea!

Tweaks

  1. This is a fantastic salad. I have now made this on 3 seperate occasions and have received rave reviews. My DH now requests I make this salad for all of our dinner parties. The dressing is fabulous. I did substitute the walnuts with almonds, but thats just our preference. I also added green onion and green pepper. Make this one - you wont be disappointed!

  2. Delicious and totally enjoyed! I used craisins instead of the cranberries.

  3. This is an absolutely wonderful salad that I've prepared several times! I did make a few changes. Instead of cranberries, I use a mix of dried berries (cranberries, blueberries, cherries, etc). I accidentally read 'balsamic vinegar' as 'balsamic vinaigrette', so I made that substitution at first. I actually prefer the dressing with the vinaigrette instead of the vinegar. When I'm feeling particularly lazy, I just use balsamic vinaigrette with an added drizzle of honey for the dressing. Thanks for the keeper; I really enjoy this salad!

  4. I loved the dressing for this salad but simply wasn't wowed by the way it combined with the feta. It is a sweet dressing and goes well with the greens, cranberries and almonds. Next time I make it, I will leave out the feta and save it for Greek salad instead.

  5. I made this for New Year's Eve dinner to go along with our shrimp cocktails and cheese fondue. The flavors really went together well. The next time I make it, I'll try adding bacon and perhaps use young spinach leaves instead of the mixed salad greens.
