Crock Pot Apple and Sauerkraut Kielbasa (Low Fat)

"This is an adopted recipe, and I tried it on a cool, rainy day. It is an inexpensive dinner with lots of flavor. I served it with buttered noodles and steamed green beans."

Questions & Replies

  1. My crockpot is cracked and I really wanted to make this dish tomorrow. Can I use a regular pot?

  2. Hello I'm new to this forum. Are calories/serving. Listed somewhere? Humm it looks like that is available when I click "Nutrition" So as I read that as the calories in 1/4 of the meal as cooked(4servings), correct?

  1. Great dinner on a cold wet Saturday! I doubled the recipe, added small new potatoes cut in half. Very easy and tasty!

  2. I change the reipe around a little. I use sauerkraut in a bag, and authentic Kielbasi from the Polish deli, in my old neighborhood. I take this to pot luck suppers, and it's the first thing that goes.

  3. Great recipe! I think I may add some new potatoes next time

  4. Fantastic!! If you love sauerkraut, this is the recipe for you! I followed the recipe, except I doubled the kielbasa and sauerkraut, and added cubed baby potatoes that I sprinkled with garlic powder and pepper. Cooked on high for four hours. Served with green beans and toasted rye bread. Oh man! I cant wait to eat more tomorrow! Thank you for this great recipe!

  5. Absolutely divine! This has got to be, hands down, one of the best things I've ever eaten! Made exactly as written. After 2 hours on high, I tested it, and it was very much ready. Not only that, but once I tasted it I couldn't help going back and "testing" it again and again! By dinner time, a good dent had been put into it, so I decided to serve it over rice. Fabulous! DH and DD loved it just as much as me! Next time, I'll double the recipe and cook it on low for 4 hours. Thanks for a terrific recipe! Will definitely make this again and again and again!!
