  1. Excellent recipe. Everyone loved this. I toasted the french rolls and added sliced onions to the beef. I will definitely make this again.

  2. This was absolutley wonderful! I have always made my french dip sandwiches from a recipe I found in Taste of Home & while it was really good, this one is much quicker to make! My whole family enjoyed this!

  3. I made this recipe twice in the month of January because my teenage son has fallen head-over-heels in LOVE with it. He ate 5 sandwiches in one sitting - and he only weighs 150 lbs! These sandwiches are just that good. I have yet to use rolled rib roast, instead using whatever I had in the freezer. I have made ours exactly as written except I've doubled the beef broth (we do love having lots of au jus!). To compile our sandwiches, I bought wheat Bolillio rolls, halved, and toasted them in the oven for just a few minutes while I'm getting the meat out of the crock. Then, I put slices of Swiss on the bread, heap on the roast beef, and wow! Magic! Thanks Bekah for sharing what is already a family favorite! :)

  4. I love French Dip and this is a great recipe! Easy and delicious! Thanks!

  5. Delicious! I use a home made recipe from zaar for the italian seasoning to save a little cost. This tastes great, and its so nice to have dinner ready when you walk in the door from work! Thanks!

Tweaks

  1. Very tasty. I also used beer instead of water. I also would recommend a sliced onion or 2.

  2. Instead of the can of water I use another can of beef broth. It makes the sauce very rich! Every time I make this, we tend of have extra sauce. We decided to freeze it and make sandwiches with just store bought sliced roast beef. It is still very yummy!

  3. Made this last night, the kids liked it (and my son doesn't like most Beef items). I used Onion Soup mix instead of the beef broth (with an extra cup of water) and than worked out very nicely! Excellent and easy...did the house smell wonderful when I walked in after work!
