  1. Easy to prepare and smelled lovely when I got home from work this afternoon. What a nice late lunch. A bowl of stew with some bread for dipping and a nice crispy salad. I plan on making this stew again when I have several bags of frozen veggies that have maby a cup or so of veggies left in them. I seem to do that a lot. This time I used up some stir fry veggies and the stew was delicious and filling. I also like that you get a differen stew every time you make this recipe depending on which veggies you add. :)

  2. Great recipe. I had to use a can of Rotel Mild tomatoes because that was all I had, but it was really good. My DH loves hot and spicy so this suited him just fine, but I prefer not quite so spicy. I am looking forward to making again with regular stewed tomatoes and maybe leaving out the potatoes and serving it over rice instead.

  3. I made this but I made a few changes. I finally made myself some Hobo Stew with Taste!! I could though of not done it without the help of this recipe! My hobo stew always came out with not taste!! Thank you!!

  4. I did this twice... on the second try, we did this : added nutmeg, half a cup of dry red wine, used canned Italian tomatoes and used fresh herbs, especially the basil (dried basil is so different than fresh basil in this recipe). Tasted much better than the original recipe.

  5. I followed the directions exactly and while it smelled good, it was too acidic for our tastes. I plan to try it again, with some adaptations, as the basic recipe is good. Maybe cut out the tomato sauce?

I live in the beautiful state of South Carolina and have lived here all of my life.I am a police officer and I work in a mid-sized city which comes along with big city stress, so to relieve this stress I took up gardening. I now have an absolutely gorgeous garden with approxamately 30 different kinds of fruits and veggies and it has become my passion. I have always enjoyed cooking but now I can experiment all of the time with the foods I've grown!
