  1. The best cookie I’ve ever made and my son in law devoured the first batch so I’m now baking my second! ??????????????

  2. Wonderful recipe! For the holidays, I omitted the cinnamon in one batch and instead topped each cookie with 1/2 of a candied cherry. They looked pretty and were delicious. Thanks for the recipe, Tonkcats.

  3. These cookies are VERY crunchy & oh, so good! I had this recipe years ago & made them every year for Christmas, but then lost the book it was in! Thanks so much for bringing back an all time favorite!

  4. Love this recipe! I am a big fan of very crunchy cookies so I reduced the amount of oats and added more cornflakes. I also left out the egg as my parents (who were visiting) are vegetarian. I added about 2 tablespoons of milk instead. They came out super crunchy & sooooo wonderful!!! I also made a batch with chocolate.I had some dark chocolate in the house so grated it and added just enough so the mixture looked brown enough for my liking. They came out great!!! You could also add some mini chocolate chips. Hmmmmmm yummy!!!! NOTE - Maybe bcos I left out the egg, the cookies needed to be left for about 30 seconds on the tray AFTER taking it out of the oven. Then I placed them on a cooling rack to cool further.
