Ingredients Nutrition

  • 4 cups milk
  • 2 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped
  • 3 cups dry bread, cubes
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 slightly beaten eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 12 cup raisins

Directions

  1. Put milk and chocolate in saucepan over medium heat; stir until chocolate is melted and milk is scalded.
  2. Pour milk into large bowl with bread, butter, salt and sugar; temper eggs and gradually add them to pudding mixture; stir in vanilla and raisins; pour into greased baking dish.
  3. Bake in a water bath at 350° until firm, about 50 minutes.
