  1. OH WOW!! These are excellent! I didn't think they were too sweet at all. I did forget the cinnamon, but they are very good without it. I also left out the walnuts. I used mini chocolate chips and was surprised when the didn't sink! Yay. The batter doesn't bubble like a regular pancake, so you have to watch carefully so you know when to turn them. Nice thick batter that turned into beautiful fluffy pancakes. Thanks! I'll be making these again!

  2. Chocoholic is right! WOW! The chips add melted chocolate jy in each bite. May be too much for some adults- they are very sweet! Used nonstick spray under each pancake bc they do stick and they brown very fast so used a medium low temp. I topped with blackberry syrup and frozen berries- yum- kids added syrup which made them overly sweet! Great recipe for chocolate lovers!

  4. These were terrific!! I might add, they'd make a perfect dessert...add a little cherry pie filling and whipped cream...WOW!! I'm also whipping up the dry ingredients...putting them in decorated jars..adding a pancake turner and samples of syrup for little gifts during the Holidays!! Thank you Paula!!!

  5. Great, unique recipe! Kids all loved it and I thought it was pretty good, too. The only suggestion I have is to watch them closely, since they brown faster than regular pancakes...also, they stick a little, I guess because of the chips and the sugar. I used Buttermilk Complete pancake mix..."complete" isn't noted, but I don't think regular mix would work. Thanks for sharing...we'll be having these again and I'll try different mix-ins...lots of possibilities!

I came to this site in March of 2004. It was then called Recipezaar. This site was the first on-line site that I ever joined. I first popped in 2003 while searching for a Peach Cobbler Recipe. In March of 2004, DH was having shoulder surgery and I was looking for a Split Pea Soup. Once again I found myself on Zaar as it came to be called. Over the years I hung out and learned from some of the best home cooks in the country, I posted over 700 recipes on the site, reviewed over 3500 recipes and posted over 3000 food photos. Over the next 10 years the site made many changes and in 2010 it was sold to to Food Network and became Food.com. Until last year we played games, talked and shared with one another. As a result of the community and the relationships I built I got to meet some wonderful people from all over the country. I also have a great number of friends that I have never meet face to face. Some of us still hang out at various places across the net. Zaar was more than a cooking community. It was an internet community of friendship. Life is an adventure ever changing.
