directions

  • Put all ingredients in blender and blend until smooth.
  • This recipe makes 28 to 30 ounces or about three to four servings. This will be very thick and you may need to add water - If you have a juicer this may work better.
  • The green drink has a strong taste and if you are used to drinking soda or sweet tea, the taste will take some getting used to. Dr. Oz suggests adding other items at first to sweeten the green drink to your taste.

  1. This is such a wonderful healthy drink! I like your recipe better than one I was given from a magazine...your amounts are a bit more precise. When I make it, I use a bit more celery and I also add frozen, chopped mangoes (or berries if I have them on hand). The trick for a smoother consistency and easier blender clean-up is in the order you add the ingredients. Lemon/lime juice, cucumber (BLEND), peeled and chopped apples (BLEND), chopped celery, ginger (BLEND), frozen fruit (BLEND), parsley (BLEND), spinach (BLEND).<br/>To clean up, just put some water in the blender, cover, and pulse to loosen all the bits. I think the most annoying part is washing the veggies! :o)

  2. I love this drink, it is very refreshing! I add just a little extra ginger. I drink this in the morning for breakfast, It is very satisfying and highly alkaline. My doctor has recommended that I follow the anti-inflammatory diet since I have high active levels of Eptein Barr Virus in my system. This drink fits right in, it helps give me a sustained energy. This drink does take about 10 minutes to make (including clean up), but it's well worth it.

  3. This was very thick, but quite tasty (if you like veggies)! I added both the carrots and the bananas. Next time I will probably add some honey, just for flavor. I think I'll keep this one around for a while! Enjoy!

  4. This did not go smooth in my blender but it is still so healthy. I did not add cucumber as I didn't have any. I upped the ginger, added some honey and used apple juice instead of apples because I wasn't using a juicer. I just used freshly squeezed lemon and no lime and perrier water for the mineral water. I will make this again. Especially because of Chef #1272082's review.

  5. This is missing some stuff. here's the real recipe, which is great. 2 cups spinach 2 cups cucumber 1 stalk of celery 1/2 inch or teaspoon ginger root 1 bunch parsley 2 apples Juice of 1 lime Juice of 1/2 lemon After everything is combined in a blender, this recipe makes 28 to 30 ounces–about three to four servings. This will be very thick and you may need to add water - If you have a juicer this may work better.

I live in the San Francisco area and love it here. I discovered Recipezaar (then Food.com..Genius Kitchen) in 2001 and have been so happy to have my favorite recipes stored safely here. I am mother to 7 and grandmother to 7. I love to knit, smock, sew, etc., but my favorite hobby of the moment is traditional rug hooking. This is a sample of what I do.? It's called "November".? I dyed most of the wool myself. It is made from wool flannel, cut into strips a little less than 1/4" and then worked into a linen backing. This is my 3rd rug.
