Delicious and easy recipe. Instead of the hamburger, try some well-cooked sausage meat, drained. Add the cooked meat to the peppers and onions and proceed with the recipe. Serve with some grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese on the side to put on top. And a dollop of sour cream too, if desired. Serve with seasoned(olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika), oven-baked fried potatoes and a green salad. I used submarine buns and/or soft kaiser rolls.

Being from RI I must say this is not how we do it at all. It sounds greasy and flat to me.you have 22ounces of sauce in it! it is not soup. Where is the garlic? where is the parmesan? where is the few drops of red hot? why didn't you drain the grease? yuck! hunts? please! sounds like it has more onions in it than meat! Brown the beef first. 2 pounds at least. DRAIN the grease. add the onion and pepper strips (not diced)add the minced garlic. add a bit of spahetti sauce, prego works best.not 22 ounces! a few tablespoons. it's not to drink. add a few drops or more of red hot sauce these are called dynamites for a reason. Simmer at least a half hour. add grated parmesan, stir and serve on italian rolls.
