I made this last night and it was really good. I used French Vanilla pudding mix and a mix of pineapple and bananas instead of mandarin oranges and fruit cocktail. I was out of fruit cocktail and we don't like oranges, but the combination of the pudding mix, buttermilk and cool whip appealed to me. It was really good. Just sweet enough without being too sweet and the texture was very nice. I had the small bowl that was left with me for breakfast this morning.
