  1. I love this recipe, so easy and absolutely delicious. I used whole spices instead of ground. I'll definitely be making this again and again!

  2. This recipe is great! The only thing that I did differently is use orange juice rather than water. And I strained it through a cheese cloth before serving as the spices look quite "sludgy". My company raved about it!

  3. We thought this was great, so easy to make and very tasty. Why fuss with adding juice when you don't have to? We bought a cheap bottle of red wine (no need to use the good stuff for mulled wine), used whole cloves and cinnamon sticks and added a few cardamom pods for good measure. Thanks for a simple recipe that really tastes like Christmas.

  4. I was going to post my recipe but it is so similar to this I didn't bother. Only using water is much easier than using juice I think. I use 1 litre bottle of cheap supermarket plonk, half a liter of water, prick about 10 cloves into an orange, cut the orange in half and put both halves in with the wine. I use a real cinnamon stick as that has a nicer richer flavour. Also, I NEVER boil the wine as that reduces the alcohol content which kind of seems pointless to me.

  5. I tried all different recipes, but this one was the closest to what I'd got hooked on in UK! And...wine is just NOT my 'thing'! After the 3rd time I made it I got adventurous and added some pear juice. It completely changed the taste.. made it a whole lot smoother and took away the 'bite'. Was delicious, but the original is still my favourite!!
