"I have not tried this yet as I cannot claim to be the originator of this. But when I found it, I thought it would be a great tasting icing."

  1. I used this recipe as I do not like sweet icing and I was a bit reluctant at first. I took a taste before adding the vanilla and cringed. But added the vanilla (a little extra for my liking) and it was a huge difference. I used this icing for my son's bday cake. He requested lemon so I added some lemon juice to it and it was amazing. It was a huge hit even with the kids. I would use it again and again and again....

  2. I really like the texture of this frosting, it was so nice and fluffy, and not too sweet. I'm not sure I liked the after taste of the shortening...but overall a very good frosting. Thanks!

  3. I liked this recipe. It was soooo stark white I had to make it on a chocolate cake, it was beautiful. I will admit I doubled the recipe, because I always you more icing, I didn't want any chocolate crumbs to mess up the look. I like icings that are not too sweet and this fit the bill. Other members of my family that tasted it thought it wasn't sweet enough. There you go, 6 people more than one opinion. ha

  4. I tried this on angel food cake, it is my standard recipe from now on. Thank you so much for sharing. It is very easy to make and everyone loved it..

  5. Light and creamy in texture, I added a bit of vanilla and almond extract. I made with brown sugar which gave it a nice color.

My husband and I have lived in NJ for the last 28 years. We have 2 sons, both grown and no longer living at home, only one toy fox terrior dog now, 2 parakeets and 2 finches! I enjoy finding, using and sharing recipes I have found on the net. Also camping, working outside in the yard, family and good friend get togethers and just relaxing. This does not mean cleaning, lol.
