  • 2 cups fresh breadcrumbs
  • 34 cup minced onion
  • 14 cup minced green pepper
  • 12 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 lb ground chuck
  • 12 lb ground veal
  • 12 lb ground pork shoulder
  • 2 12 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 14 cup milk
  • 34 cup ketchup
  • 2 -3 slices bacon

directions

  • In a large bowl combine well all ingredients except 1/2 cup ketchup.
  • Grease baking loaf pan.
  • Add mixture to pan taking care not to overwork.
  • Cover with slices of bacon and brush with remaining ketchup.
  • Bake at 400 degrees for 50 minutes.
  • Cool for 10 minutes and slice.
  • Makes great sandwiches the next day.

I live in california. I have three kids which are all grown now, My grandson is 7years old and the love of my life. Was a stay at home mom until my husband passed away a few years ago. Enjoy crafts, sewing (which i don't do much of anymore),and cooking. Just started to put together a family cookbook, with long time favorites from over the years. Plus I always enjoy trying new recipes. new passions are sourdough and salsas. We have a garden each year that keeps me in fresh veges for most of the summer,GREAT.
