- Peel the potato, turnip and onion and slice thin.
- In a greased baking dish, make alternate layers of potato, turnip and onion, adding salt and pepper to each layer.
- Fill baking dish with milk until vegetables are nearly covered, place a large lump of butter on top.
- Bake at 350 F for 60 minutes.

I made this in a roaster oven, since our single oven was busy with a prime rib. I used buttermilk. It was fabulous. Had DH and I talking about his late father who probably dined on this regularly when he was growing up! Very nostalgic and delicious! Thanks, Lorac! Made for Regional Cooking Tag. -
Simplicity is always the best. I did not bother to layer this. I just sliced it all up in a food processor, mixed it all together, cooked per recipe instructions and enjoyed it. I actually used this as the main course of a vegetarian meal. Thanks Lorac for another great recipe.
