- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 tablespoons shortening, melted
- 1 cup flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
directions
- Mix all ingredients until smooth. Heat oil in skillet. Once oil is very hot, pour until desired size is reached. Lightly brown on both sides.
