  1. Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup sugar or 1/4 cup honey and use apple cider vinegar. Blend in blender and it will earn the 4 stars; otherwise, raw and very acidic.

  2. I used red wine vinegar and whirled all the ingredients in my mini food processor. This was a perfect dressing for Spinach and Orange Salad (recipe #136711). The tang of the dressing balanced well with the natural sweetness of the oranges in the salad. I like that it wasn't as sweet as many commercial salads. It was a refreshing change.

  3. This is a lovely, tangy french dressing - just what I was looking for. A lot of the french dressing recipes on zaar contain more sugar and some sort of tomato product whereas this recipe seems to me to be more authentic. I used red wine vinegar and made the recipe as written....very tasty indeed for little effort and it's great on salads.

  4. I made this because we were having salads for supper and all of the ingredients appeal to my personal tastes but this was just harsh. Maybe it could use more sugar to smooth it out and take the edge off. I like a bite, but this wasn't a pleasant bite. I'm sorry it didn't go over with anyone in my family. We are a strange and picky bunch so don't let it stop you from trying this, especially if you DON'T like sweet dressing.
