  1. Delicious! Easy to make and very moist. I'll certainly make it again. I used 3 cups of apples and omitted the nutmeg and cloves since I'm not fond of them. It's a great recipe! One thing I noticed is the recipe for the cake has cinnamon listed twice. I used 1/2 tsp. but will use 1 tsp. next time.

  2. This is an extraordinarily yummy, easy to make, scrumptious cake. I made it for a work breakfast tomorrow, and I've already had a "little" bit for myself. The spices are great, the texture is perfect, and the topping just makes it even better. Definitely a keeper that I'll make again!

  3. After 35 years of marriage this was my first made from scratch cake, and it turned out wonderful. I had some apples that we picked off our tree in August and they were still good in my fridge, so I needed something to put them in and this was perfect. Only change I made was to put 3 cups instead of 2, and wasn't sure how big or small to chop the apples so I made them in between. Made the house smell incredible. Thanks so much for this great recipe, I will certainly make this again since it was so simple to do.

  4. Shar-on, this was unbelievably tasty! It was really moist, and the blend of spices was just perfect! The cake was baked in 35 minutes. I decided to make this as I was expecting visitors, and everyone just loved it! I'm sure I'll be making this again. Thanks!

  5. Hi Shar-on, I made this cake today...what a wonderful moist cake that rose very high, and was so light and delicious, I am thinking that dissolving the soda in the buttermilk made such a big difference to the texture, it was fabulous!... and great topping BTW. This is a winning cake recipe, I highly advise anyone to try it.. thanks so much for posting Shar-on, I will make it again...Kittencal:)
