Fried Ice Cream

"This is a recipe I have eaten in a wonderful Mexican restaurant (La Fiesta) in Carbondale, Illinois. I have not made this my own self yet, mainly because I forget about it till I am at La Fiesta. Then of course I order it there and have no need to make it. (It is so good). The recipe came from a Mexican Cookbook I have by Better Homes & Gardens. Hope you get as much enjoyment from eating it as I do at La Fiesta."

  1. Made these for a dinner party and it was a novelty for the guests. Easy to make and true to the ingredients/ recipe.

  2. Yummy!

  3. We had Dinner Club last night with a Southwest theme and these were a hit for dessert! I followed the recipe exactly, used Frosted Flakes as the cereal and actually added just a tad bit more cinnamon. Impressive, fun and delicious! Everyone raved.

  4. Thank you so much for this recipe! My fried ice cream came out beautifully. I used organic General Mills CURVES Whole Grain Crunch Cereal with rice and wheat and Breyers chocolate & vanilla ice cream. I crushed up the cereal a bit before rolling the balls. These tasted amazing and will definitely impress any guests. This recipe is a KEEPER!

  5. Really Good! Well worth the time. Just as good as the my favorite resturant version. Topped with chocolate syrup and whipped cream.

So please forgive!!! I am Married to the same guy for 40 years,I Have 2 beautiful Daughters, who have given me 6 grand and glorious grandchildren. I love to cook,in fact you could call it my favorite hobby My pet peeve is telemarketers,Every time I get busy with my recipe hobby one of them will call and knock me off the web,and of coarse I waste precious time getting back on.I am disabled,so I no longer work, and have plenty of time to pursue my hobby. My best dish I make is Lasagna but thats just because I love lasagna.I am also asked to bring No-Bake cookies at all of our potlucks, and linger-longers at church.Meat loaf is another often requested dish I am asked to bring...... NOT MY meatloaf but .... My husbands. He is as good a cook as I am,He can cook anything I can cook, and I can cook anything he can cook, but some things I make better, and some He makes better...So we do a lot of compromising at our house.
