  1. Exactly like the green beans I get at our chinese buffet! what a happy surprise to find this recipe and be able to have them at home, I steamed the green beans instead of boiling them, and in the future since I am cutting fat I am going to try and just omit the butter, it HAS to still be wonderful! Thanks Inez!

  2. I totally LOVED these green beans, never made them fresh before, and the garlic/butter combo make them to die for! I could live on these alone! Thanks so much, I just realized 3 of the recipes I made tonight were from you! lol

  3. this is really good Inez....I tried it with garlic salt and omitted the plain salt and it was great.....another good one.

  4. This was very good, eliminating the butter might take out all the fun, but I do believe that it could be cut in half without notice. I also steamed the green beans and then added them to the garlic butter going very lightly on the salt (just a dash). Fresh veggies just can't be beat! So many other veggies could be done exactly the same way - mushrooms, onions, snap peas, etc. etc. Thanks for another great simple one.

  5. I have been making these beans for years, and everyone always loves them. I often add a tablespoon or two of lemon juice to the mix. Thanks for posting it.

  1. Hello, My husband and I tried your recipe for the green beans and we loved them, the recipe was so easy to use that for now on we will be cooking them all the time. Thank you for that great recipe.

  2. So simple and so good! The only change I made was to use olive oil instead of butter. They had a wonderful flavor and texture. We enjoyed them very much :)

  3. Excellent and so easy. I used olive oil instead of butter. I didn't miss anything and it is better for your health right? :)Keeper recipe.

  4. Yum! So simple and so delicious. I didn't add as much salt as stated and they came out perfect for our taste. I also used extra-virgin olive oil instead of butter.

  5. These beans were really good! I love the flavor the garlic added to the beans! I'm on a diet, so I used 1 1/2 tablespoons of lite margarine in place of the butter. I also used lite salt instead of regular salt and I couldn't even tell I had made these "diet friendly"! I will definitely be making these again!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
