1. I know this is an old posting, but I have made this 5 times now because it's FANTASTIC. I have had people even ask me to make it for them for birthdays. I used an orange icing as well as the lemon sauce based on who was getting to eat it. This is a solid keeper.

 2. The taste was great. It was just thing i was looking for the holiday season. I was disappointed that it sunk in the center (used a bunt pan), so when I plated it, the visible part looked great, but when you cut it, the piece looked a little funny. The lemon sauce was a nice addition. I even made some candied lemon peels and scattered over the cake.

 3. I found this recipe when searching for something gingery to bake in a gingerbread cottage-shaped cake pan. It is perfect! My only change was substituting 1/2 cup honey for 1/2 cup of the molasses. The batter is just the right volume for my pan, and the cake is wonderful. The whole house smells like the holidays when it is baking. I have made two already and have more planned for gifts.

 4. The cake had a delicious flavor, but mine sunk in the middle like it was not completely done when it was, so when plated it looked a bit odd. I made my own lemon sauce to go over it. It was enjoyed, but still more gingerbread than pound cake to us.

 5. This recipe is awesome! Our entire house was filled with a delicious, spicy, warm fragrance while it was baking. It is very easy to prepare and the result is so delicious, we never got the lemon sauce on it. We couldn't wait. The outside is crunchy and the inside is moist and tender. It tastes just like gingerbread! YUMMO! My Mom is taking my printed version of this one!

I am a mother of three and live in central Pennsylvania. My children were very active in after school activities and found we weren't spending anytime together at meal time. In 1998, I decided to start cooking my dinners in a crockpot so that we could have a home cooked meal together once everyone came home. My children now get so excited to see what we are having to eat and love the smell when they walk in the door. My family calls me the crock pot queen. LOL I use my crock pot everyday of the year.

My three children are now in college and before they come home they request their favorite meal. I still continue to cook in the crock pot for my husband and I. It is nice after a long day to know your meal is ready. It also helps in keeping my grocery bill down. With zaar, I can print my shopping list and that is all I purchase is the ingredients on that list.

Now, my two daughters have been crock pot cooking while in college. They find it is easy to cook for the themselves and their friends. It is an easy way to have friends over for dinner after classes

I still love trying new recipes and purchasing cookbooks, especially crock pot cookbooks.

Happy Cooking!
