  1. Having lived in Hungary, this recipe should *NOT* be listed under Hungarian cuisine! This is basically an American recipe. True Hungarian Goulash has many more ingredients (including a Hungarian staple...paprika) and is more soup-like with an amazing broth.

  2. Just like we had when we were kids! I used 2.25 lbs of beef and a lb of elbow turned out great! Will add a can of kidney beans next time!

  3. Very good and filling! I always add some vegetables (usually carrots and green pepper) because otherwise it's a little too much meat, but this is a great base recipe. It has become part of our regular rotation. It also makes a TON of servings! I also leave out the garlic, because you can't even taste it.

  4. I make this for the kids in my daycare center, and they can't get enough! I use garlic powder and dried onion and it tastes great. For very few ingredients, its big on taste!

  5. When time counts, this recipe is a quick and easy one to make. As Samigirl, I also used 1 can of soup and added a can of diced tomatoes. I adopted this chef for the *PAC Spring 2008* game

Tweaks

  1. My husband really liked this recipe. It was easy to make. I substituted l can Campbell's tomato soup instead of 3 and added l can of diced tomatoes. I added chili powder for taste enhancement. LC

  2. I love goulash. One day, my mom wasn't around to ask for our recipe, so I did a search online. I was very pleased with the results! (I only used 2 garlic cloves and instead of 3 cans tomato soup, I used one can tomato soup and one can diced tomatos)
