I made a ¼ size recipe of this, since there are only the two of us. The “dough” seemed very runny to me, almost like oatmeal, so I added more sugar and flour to thicken it up to a thick oatmeal state. Then I used a mini ice cream scoop to make as close to balls as possible and baked ½ of what I made. Those turned out really good. I think they might have been even better if I had not tried to thicken the “dough”. The other half of the dough I added about ½ cup more sugar and 2 cups of flour, so that it resembled bread dough. That way, I could try to make miniature balls out of it as the recipe states. These “pies” also tasted really good, but they had a tough texture from the extra flour and the extra mixing I had to do to get the flour worked in. Next time I won’t make any changes, because it seems that my idea of a dough is not what was needed for these “pies”. Let me reiterate: These were very good, and I will be making them again!

My name is Ami and I share my home with my husband, Carey, our two small sons, James and Charles and our daughters Meradydd (it's pronounced Meradith)and Kathrynn. Until recently, I was a Specialist in the National Guard. I'm pretty eclectic in my studies and I've learned a lot becuase of that since I don't limit myself. Right now I'm taking classes for animal care. I've also been studying a lot about herbalism and really enjoy learning about that. My mother and I also run a home based business for natural soap, balms, etc. We use only the most the natural ingredients available. I'm also a Mary Kay consultant. Busy, huh? :D I love to read and learn new things. My husband says our books will be the death of us. LOL. I love to cook and experiment. I also like to take walks, rain or not.
