Grilled Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich

"While watching Emerill Live tonight, Bobby Flay was the special guest. While they were cooking, they started joking around saying they were hungry and since Bobby was making a hamburger with ham and cheese, he asked Emerill if he wanted a "ham, egg and cheese sandwich" to go with the beer that Emerill provided him. I hadn't had dinner yet and my protein intake for the day was pretty low so this sounded really good. They didn't show him making it but its not that hard to figure out."

  1. Would just to say that any breakfast or egg sandwich should have more than 1 egg. I would recommend putting in 2 eggs cooked to preference.

  2. Loved it! Super easy. Needed a quick & easy lunch on a day I was off sick from work. This did the trick. I reduced the amount of butter used for my fried egg as recipe's amount seemed a bit much. I also made a true fried egg so that the yolk spilled out when eating it (YUM). Next time, I may try it as an over-easy egg so it's not so messy eating it. It was a bit hard trying to toast the bread in the skillet as a sandwich without moving the yolk! Will be making this again, for sure.

  3. Very good breakfast sandwich. I have tried with sausage, bacon, and ham. They are all very good.

  4. I made these for Easter breakfast. My family thought there wasn't enough egg in these. I had even used two eggs per sandwich and had made them scrambled. I also added a good bit of pepper to these. I followed the rest of the recipe as written.

  5. Very good. I had to sub whole wheat bread and all cheddar to use what I had on hand. (Next time I'd definitely like to try it as written!) I've always liked fried egg sandwiches, as well as grilled ham & cheese... just never thought of combining them! I was going to skip the step of frying the ham, but I'm glad I didn't. I think a little tangy mustard would be good on this. Thanks for posting!
