Grog Spicy and Sweet

"Grog came about when Admiral Sir Edward Vernon, while trying to cut costs and conserve supplies on the open sea, diluted the crew's rum with water. Eventually, the crew realized the drink tasted better served hot. For a more flavorful drink try this recipe using apple juice!"

  1. I cannot rate a Grog recipe any lower than 5 stars, being the daughter of an ex Royal Navy father! I know grog very well - this IS a very different recipe to the ones we know and use, but is was delicious nevertheless. A spicy, hot libation that certainly put the roses back in my cheeks! Made for Photo Tag- thanks Rita! PS - I used HALF a lime, it was perfect! FT:-)

  2. I thought this sounded good, especially because it is a cold, blustery night tonight. This was easy to make, however, I found it to be extremely tart. Maybe my lime was just too juicy, but I am guessing that's what did it. Maybe scaling it down to the juice of half a lime would help. I followed all directions as posted.
