Ground Beef Curry

"Love, love, love the taste of curry! Easy recipe with a nice blend of spices! Different way to use chickpeas! Found this recipe in a Jean Paré cookbook and adapted it a bit."

  1. This recipe was easy to make, tasted great (better the next day). I did add a bay leaf, cinnamon stick, 4 whole cloves and some raisins. Great meal for company, served with Greek yoghurt, chutney and rice. Great for freezing for another meal too! Thanks for posting...

  2. I'm always looking for new ways to use ground beef and never would've thought to make a curry with it. This one was delicious. It's such a great idea and won't break the bank. Served it with rice!

  3. My hubby and I LOVED this. I used ground turkey as I don't care to cook with ground beef and subbed Bloody Mary Mix for the tomato juice as that was what I had on hand. It was a good twist on the standard chili and made for awesome leftovers. This one will be going into the rotation for sure. Thank you!

  4. This is a great week night, cheap, family meal that we all loved. I nearly forgot to add the yogurt but luckily didn't as it added a nice flavour to the mince mix. I did end up cooking for longer but that was becauce I was home and love curries that have been simmered for a while. For me it brings the flavours out. Next time I will add more chilli paste (I used one teaspoon of sambal oelek). This will be an excellent filling for my pie maker. Thanks Redsie :)

  5. Yum! 4kids 6& under loved it! Subbed: V8, Rotel and Wegmans Vanilla Greek yogurt (lol we never have plain) Added snackable red/yellow peppers and over tricolor quinoa!

  2. Yummy! We really liked this! I didn't have any fish sauce, so didn't use that, and I used onions instead of leeks. I also added chickpeas to stretch it a bit. My husband went back for seconds. Thanks Redsie!

  3. I really liked this! I used veggie crumbles in place of the ground beef, halved the recipe, and used canned peas(I was sure I had frozen ones, but no). Thank you Redsie!
