  • Melt the butter.
  • fry the ham in butter real quick on both sides.
  • open the eggs directly into the pan over the ham.
  • salt slightly.
  • cover the pan with and let the eggs sit until they are the desired consistency.

  3. I make this all the time..never even gave it a thought as a recipe. In Germany, Bavaria, and the German towns thruout Europe this dish is extremely popular in the morning (or sometimes we even made it for a Sunday evening meal) with homemade crusty bread. I love this for breakfast much better than bacon.Yummy!
     
  4. You did not say how thick or thin to slice the ham - I did it 1/4"- Haven't had ham and eggs in ages enjoyed them very much. Thanks Lali for reminding me how good they are together - Served with 16 grain toast, fresh tomatoes, hash browns & sauteed mushrooms - excellent Brunch
